It has been a long time since my last post. Wow. A lot has changed in our family. We have been really trying to focus on becoming more healthy and enjoying life more instead of being driven by day to day things. We are focusing our efforts to move up to Portland, OR since my work has agreed to let me work from home. Rock on!! Yes, it is a small move but our family is in Portland and Washington so the driving is just driving me crazy. I don't like or want to be on the road as much as were are and it gives us more time to be with our family instead of on the road. Anyway. My sister Jessica just pointed out this new bike that I am hoping since we will have some more room when we move to store our bikes we as a family can take on riding bikes more often than driving. So I have been looking into the bike my sister suggested and that she is excited to get for herself. It is called Madsen Bucket Bike. You should check it out. Well that is all for now.

Reigning Down on Oregon

I went to a bellydancing event this weekend and it was awesome. I did solo while I was there but was not to happy with my performance so we won't talk much about that. I did have fun doing it and that is all that matters and I also am learning each time I screw up so you live and you learn. The event was thrown together by my friends and troupe that I use to tribal dance with. It was awesome. It had a good amount of workshops and they had awesome vendors there. I got myself some pants a cool bussle and I ordered a new skirt for my bellydancing. I will be taking pictures and putting them on so you can see how cool they are. I am excited for this event again. They are planning on doing it every year. It is just nice to hang out with my girls and dress up in the middle of the woods. You meet a lot of good people at these types of events. Just great people. Tons of fun.

Here is Majenta's first pony tail. Her hair is just long enough to stay up. She is so cute. She was watching Dora the Explorer in Spanish that is why I was able to get a picture otherwise she was running all over trying to to avoid the camera.

We am getting closer to have my invitation and announcements website up and running. www.pinklaughs.com I am so excited. I just need to get a few more designs put together so that I can fill up the different catagories I am planning on have. So please keep me in mind for any holiday cards that you want of your family or party invitations or announcements e.g. baby announcements. Also if there are family businesse's that anyone has that I can help support please let me know. I want to make sure we support you also. This weekend we are just staying around the house cleaning like I do every second I have that I am not at work and working on the website. Then on Sunday we are going to Portland to pick up Ruben's son Lucciano and we are going to volunteer making cards for sick kids. We are excited to do this. We were motivated to do this because of the promotion Disney is doing Give a Day. Get a Disney Day we are planning a trip to disneyland. This will be a well deserved trip. We have not been on a family vacation since we went down to Ecuador for our wedding 4 years ago. I am also excited because we will be also visiting my family in Arizona to but (HUSH HUSH) for the kids they don't know yet it is going to be a suprise so if you know any of our kids please don't say anything thanks.

Surrogacy Blog

I am getting closer and closer to starting my shots so that we can do the embryo transfer and I just now thought I should have been recording the entire time of the process I have had to go through with my surrogacy. 30th Birthday Event

Well my friends decided to take me to a Drag Queen show up in Portland but before I went my friend and co-worker Natalie took me shopping got my makeup done. I was all gussied up. I felt very cute. I got some fake eye lashes which were cool. We got ready and drove up to the place called Darcelle's. I have only been to a Drag Queen show once but this one was a really funny show. We got there and got our picture taken with Darcelle which was fun. Darcelle tells jokes and also recongnized everyone that had a birthday which we spoke into a microphone telling her our age and where we were from. They also sent me home with a audio tape of the show so I could hear myself on the show. I had a blast. We watched a bunch of drag queens show there stuff (not literally). I will have pictures later my friend still needs to give them to me.

Thank you Natalie for having the idea I had a TON of fun this was my best birthday ever. Usually I try not to make a big deal about it so this was a first. Happy 30 to me.

4 year wedding anniversary

Ruben and I have been married for 4 years actually it is 4 1/2 today because we actually signed papers in July and had the wedding in Ecuador in January 2006. I can't believe that it has been that long already. We have a beautiful daughter Majenta that just turned 1 1/2 on Dec 25th 2009 and an awesome son Lucciano who just turned 7 1/2. At this point of our life we are doing awesome. We have gone through our share of bumps in the road over the 4 years but we have worked hard on our relationship and we continue to try to be understanding with each other and to make sure we are always thinking about the other person and how they feel when we are communicating and it has definetly paid off. We are very much in the same mind set of what are goals are for the future and we are working as a team to get there. I feel truely blessed to have my family and I am excited to spend the rest of my life with them. Love you hubby and ready for more years to come.

Well my sister Jessica has encouraged me to start back up on my blogging. So here we are a new year a new beginning. We stayed home for New Years because we had spent a lot of time for Christmas around family so we thought it would be nice to have a peaceful weekend at home. Majenta is growing up so fast. She is getting more and more independent and she is saying so many new words. Her newest is Moon. She loves to point at the moon in the sky and say "Moon" it s so cute. We went to WA for halloween. We went to Mom's old neighborhood that she grew up and trick n treat there. It was fun to see the old house. Grandma Kathie and Aunt Katie came with us. My wonderful sister's Jessica, Katie, and Sister in law Taylor put together a great weekend for me. It was wonderful. For one Jessica came up from Arizona with her daughter Reagan whom I had not met in person yet. That was fun to get Majenta and her together. Then we just hung out and on Sunday night we had my Birthday Dinner. Which Jessica made Fajitas. Then the next day we had a Birthday Breakfast

After that they blind folded me and walked me all around the house to try and confuse me and we ended back in my Mom's house and they had setup a "in house" salon where my sister Katie gave me a wonderful pedicure. It was so wonderful. After that they took me to the Olive Garden for my Birthday Lunch which I had to wear a crown that said Birthday Princess on it. They also sang to me. Thank you for a wonderful weekend.

Labor day weekend

Saturday we went up to Portland and walked around. It was a really nice day. We were taking Ruben up to sign up for the triathlon that he was going to do on Sunday with his friend's Victor and Javier. This is the first time Jenna has been to Portland she loved walking around with me in our Bajorn she was looking at everything. She loves to be outside to look at the trees and people. Then we went to the Nike Employee store so Ruben could get some new shoes for the triathlon Sunday. We stayed at Grandma Josephine and Grandpa Ed's house they were out of town. We just stayed and watched movies. Then on Sunday Ruben did his triathlon and his team got 1st place in his level which was pretty cool. Then we went home and just hung out the rest of the weekend. Plus it is my sister Jessica's birthday today HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESS.

Yesturday they walked around the fair and looked at all of the booths. Also when they went to the clown show the picture they took did not turn out so they got another one when they went out again. I don't think she is going to want to grow up to be a clown she did not like the red nose they put on her.

She had a really good time. It was a perfect day for it. Not to hot not to cold. Just right. I think it is wonderful that Lorre takes pictures for me of my baby Majenta while I am not around so I can see all the cool things she gets to do.

SHE HAS ARRIVED

Well "Jenna" Majenta Isabela Barberan has arrived. She was born 6-25-08 at 11:55PM 6 lbs 10 oz. We are very excited to have her in our life. She is the cutest thing I have ever seen.

Everything went great we just had one little problem to keep us from going home. The nurse came in to give Majenta the shots she needed they notice that her skin was yellow. This is a sign of Jaundice they say it is normal in infants but it is more high risk when it is coombs positive which she is. So they put her on Phototherapy which was only suppose to be for 6 hours but someone did not set it for the highest setting so she had to stay in there longer which ended up being 14 hours. I did not like it very much because I could not hold or feed her when I wanted to. Also the longer I would hold or feed her the longer she would have to stay under the light so I was kind of sad. But it is all over. She is doing fine and we are happy to be home.

I love these pictures they are so funny looking it looks like she is getting a tan. The other one makes her look like a alien or bug.

Well I just thought I would write because it has been a while. We are still waiting for Majenta to come and join us. So far I don't have any contractions or braxton hicks. I feel pretty normal. So we shall see when she will feel like coming out. I am going to the doctor every week now. We have packed our stuff that we need for the hospital. I just need to put it all in the car. I am going camping with my friends this weekend because it is suppose to be nice. The place we are going to be is closer to the hospital than my house so I am not worried if I go into labor over there. It will be fun to go out with my friends one last time without having to worry about a baby. I know it is going to be a big change in my life which I am excited for. So we will try and keep you posted. I am sure I will put something up right away when she is born because we are just so excited. As you can see I have been slacking off a bit on the blog. But here I am back and ready to be more informative about what is going with the Barberan Family. I am working on scanning the last pictures of our baby's ultrasounds. I might be able to figure out how to put the quick video that they gave me of her moving. Also we had some 3D ultrasound pictures taken so I need to scan those in also. To catch up on what is going on with us right now is no real news. Ruben is still working on Crazy Fuego our Web and Graphic Design company which is going well. I am still working and will up until the day I have the baby because I have been feeling fine so there is no reason for me to be at home right now. I have put together everything for the baby room the only thing we need left is the stroller and car seat but Grandma Kathie said that she was going to get that for us. I think I have un-officially found the name for our baby girl. Let me know what you think Majenta (yes, like the color but spelled different) Isabella Barberan and I was thinking Jenna for a nick name. I thought it was cute. Lucciano is excited for the baby to come he is going to be a big help when the baby comes. He will be 6 June 8th and he keeps saying after his birthday he is going to have a baby sister. We added another member to our family a month or so ago to give our chihuahua Spike someone to play with her name is Ella she is another chihuahua. They have a blast playing together.

5 months Pregnant

Well just an update. I am starting at my fifth month to take monthly pictures of my belly to put pictures in a frame for a time line. Here is my 5 month pic

I am going to get my ultrasound this Friday Feb. 15th in the morning so we hope to find out if it is a boy or a girl. We are very excited.

Christmas Tree

So this last Sunday. Ruben, Lucciano and I put up the christmas tree it looks very nice. I am going to post some pictures. We are very excited to be having our first christmas in our Condo. We are going to spend christmas with Ruben's family in Portland. Then for New Year we are planning on going up to Washington for Katie to cut my hair and to celebrate the New Year with my family. Everything is going well with us at this moment. Ruben is trying to survive another Oregon winter. He does not like the cold very much but he will live. Otherwise the baby has been treating me well. I am very sensative to smells right now but we are still moving forward. We are getting more and more excited everyday. I am hoping to have a baby shower sometime up in Washington so my family and friends in Washington share this joy with us. So I will let you know when that ends up being. I can't wait to see this little baby of ours.

OK Baby Update

Ok so today I had my first Dr. appointment and we are thinking that I am about 16 weeks. So we go through the medical questions and then we get to the part where they try to hear the baby's heartbeat. So they tried for about 10 mins with no luck. So they said they want me to have an ultrasound to make sure I am as far along as we thought. They get me an appointment later in the afternoon. So Ruben, Lucciano, and I go and they start with the ultrasound asking me when my due date is. I told them May 14th. Then she starts to do the ultrasound and she says "Did you know that your do date is like way off?" She told me that I am 9 weeks 5 days pregnant. Well that was a little surprise but fine. That explains why they could not find the heartbeat in the office. So these are the new Facts. My new due date is June 29th so I changed my little spinning baby on my blog to 9 weeks. So we are excited still because we are still pregnant and because we got our first picture of our baby. During the ultrasound we could see our baby wiggling around it was soooo cool. The other cool thing is that now they have the 3D ultrasounds and I asked if my insurance would cover one and they said no they wont but that they give that complimentary when I come in for my 24 weeks ultrasound. I was so excited. I can't wait to see our 3D Baby. Anyway so that is the newest news. I will keep you updated on our progress.

WE'RE PREGNANT

(writing with BIG SMILES) I just wanted everyone to know that Ruben and I have just found out that we are 10 weeks pregnant with my our first child together. We are so very excited. Ruben is hoping for a girl. I have no preference. Our due date is May 14th 2008. My sister Jessica informed us that she is also 10 weeks pregnant with her fourth child. She is very excited! I am going to try and keep everyone posted on our progress.
