Last Baby Shower

Well I had my last baby shower yesterday. Now we are making sure we have everything and just waiting for little Majenta to arrive. This is me on my way to the baby shower along with Ruben and Lucciano. We are all excited for her arrival.

I went to a bellydancing event the other weekend so I had a local henna artist draw on my belly and hand so I could show off at the event so here are some pictures.

8 Months Pregnant

As you can see I have been slacking off a bit on the blog. But here I am back and ready to be more informative about what is going with the Barberan Family. I am working on scanning the last pictures of our baby's ultrasounds. I might be able to figure out how to put the quick video that they gave me of her moving. Also we had some 3D ultrasound pictures taken so I need to scan those in also. To catch up on what is going on with us right now is no real news. Ruben is still working on Crazy Fuego our Web and Graphic Design company which is going well. I am still working and will up until the day I have the baby because I have been feeling fine so there is no reason for me to be at home right now. I have put together everything for the baby room the only thing we need left is the stroller and car seat but Grandma Kathie said that she was going to get that for us. I think I have un-officially found the name for our baby girl. Let me know what you think Majenta (yes, like the color but spelled different) Isabella Barberan and I was thinking Jenna for a nick name. I thought it was cute. Lucciano is excited for the baby to come he is going to be a big help when the baby comes. He will be 6 June 8th and he keeps saying after his birthday he is going to have a baby sister. We added another member to our family a month or so ago to give our chihuahua Spike someone to play with her name is Ella she is another chihuahua. They have a blast playing together.

5 months Pregnant

Well just an update. I am starting at my fifth month to take monthly pictures of my belly to put pictures in a frame for a time line. Here is my 5 month pic



I am going to get my ultrasound this Friday Feb. 15th in the morning so we hope to find out if it is a boy or a girl. We are very excited.

I created this post for my bellydancing troupe. We are putting an event together with workshops and a show. This is my practice for my web designing ability that I am working on for our company Crazy Fuego.

Christmas Tree

So this last Sunday. Ruben, Lucciano and I put up the christmas tree it looks very nice. I am going to post some pictures. We are very excited to be having our first christmas in our Condo. We are going to spend christmas with Ruben's family in Portland. Then for New Year we are planning on going up to Washington for Katie to cut my hair and to celebrate the New Year with my family. Everything is going well with us at this moment. Ruben is trying to survive another Oregon winter. He does not like the cold very much but he will live. Otherwise the baby has been treating me well. I am very sensative to smells right now but we are still moving forward. We are getting more and more excited everyday. I am hoping to have a baby shower sometime up in Washington so my family and friends in Washington share this joy with us. So I will let you know when that ends up being. I can't wait to see this little baby of ours.

OK Baby Update

Ok so today I had my first Dr. appointment and we are thinking that I am about 16 weeks. So we go through the medical questions and then we get to the part where they try to hear the baby's heartbeat. So they tried for about 10 mins with no luck. So they said they want me to have an ultrasound to make sure I am as far along as we thought. They get me an appointment later in the afternoon. So Ruben, Lucciano, and I go and they start with the ultrasound asking me when my due date is. I told them May 14th. Then she starts to do the ultrasound and she says "Did you know that your do date is like way off?" She told me that I am 9 weeks 5 days pregnant. Well that was a little surprise but fine. That explains why they could not find the heartbeat in the office. So these are the new Facts. My new due date is June 29th so I changed my little spinning baby on my blog to 9 weeks. So we are excited still because we are still pregnant and because we got our first picture of our baby. During the ultrasound we could see our baby wiggling around it was soooo cool. The other cool thing is that now they have the 3D ultrasounds and I asked if my insurance would cover one and they said no they wont but that they give that complimentary when I come in for my 24 weeks ultrasound. I was so excited. I can't wait to see our 3D Baby. Anyway so that is the newest news. I will keep you updated on our progress.

New Mom

WE'RE PREGNANT

(writing with BIG SMILES) I just wanted everyone to know that Ruben and I have just found out that we are 10 weeks pregnant with my our first child together. We are so very excited. Ruben is hoping for a girl. I have no preference. Our due date is May 14th 2008. My sister Jessica informed us that she is also 10 weeks pregnant with her fourth child. She is very excited! I am going to try and keep everyone posted on our progress.

Iowa Training Trip

So this weekend I went to Iowa to train a Dental Office that had bought software from the company I work for at the moment. I do this several times during the year. I have been to NYC 3 times already. I love to visit New York. So anyway it was fun I flew from Salem, OR to Salt Lake City, UT and then on to Omaha Nebraska. I had to drive for 2 hours to get the office in Iowa there was a lot of corn fields along the way it was beautiful. I stopped a couple times it was warm and windy. It was nice to smell the fresh country air. It reminded me of St. John Washington when I would go visit my Grandparents and cousins when they lived there. I loved going there. Anyway I thought I would share some photos. This weekend is Ruben's birthday and we are going to the Oregon coast so I am sure we will have photos from that also.

Lucciano felt a little sick so we took him to the doctor. We noticed as we were sitting there patiently waiting for the doctor that Lucciano was wearing the same colors as the doctors office. I thought it was funny. I had to take a picture.

Renaissance Faire

Ruben, Lucciano and I went to the Renaissance Faire this weekend it was a blast. We saw Knights and Queens. This faire is once a year it is called the Shrewsberry. This was Ruben and Lucciano's first time.

Ruben went up to Portland to see Lucciano go to his first day of school. He was so excited to see dad at school with him. His mom Zoila was also there to see him off to school.

We went up to Washington this weekend to see my brother Jack get married to a wonderful women Jessy "Jessica". I am so happy for my brother he looks so happy and so does she. I saw Aunt Debbie, Uncle Craig, and Aunt Lynnette there. I took a lot of pictures of the wedding. It was in downtown Puyallup at the Old Liberty Theater. It was so cool they got married on stage. It was all so beautiful. They are going to be living in Arizona as soon as they are done with their honeymoon at Lake Washington. I want to say best wishes to them and I hope they have a wonderful life together.

Meet the Barberan Family

Here is the start of the Barberan Family Blog. Thanks to Aunt Debbie and Uncle Craig Swensen for referring us to this blog site.

So to start is to tell you who is the Barberan Family? Well this is Debbie Smith(maiden name) and Ruben Barberan we were married July 29th 2006 in Salem, OR where we live at the present time. We did not have a wedding party there because we were going to wait until we went to Ecuador in December-January to see Ruben's family. On January 9th 2007 we had our Wedding in Ecuador. It was beautiful.



We bought our first home together May 2007 we love it very much. It is a 3 bedroom 1 1/2 bath condo. It is very cute. I will try to post some pictures so you can see. We also have a son just turned 5 years old on June 8th 2007 his name is Lucciano.



He is going to start school this Wednesday we are so excited for him. He lives with his mom in Portland, OR most of the time but gets to come and stay with us every other week. He loves Thomas the tank engine, Sponge Bob, Batman(which is what he is going to dress up as this Halloween) and Superman ( He dressed up as this last year)





He also loves to surf like his dad so we are trying to create his bedroom with a surfing theme.





He also LOVES to draw he takes after his dad. He just told us the other day that he wants to be an artist when he grows up. He is very smart and he loves to learn. He also loves to go to the beach with his dad and me. We also have another "son" his name is Spike.





He will be turning 1 year old November 6th 2007. He is very cute. He comes with me to work almost everyday and he goes with us everywhere he can. He is a Tea Cup Chihuahua he weighs almost 2 pounds. He is a wonderful addition to our family. Lucciano and Spike love playing with each other.



I like to surf a little bit like them but I would rather be belly dancing. That is my hobby. I solo and dance with a group of girls just for fun. I like it a lot and I have been doing it for 7 years.



I also love photography. Any chance I get I take pictures. You can take a look at my website that I have started. It is slowly coming together but I have some nice pictures from Ecuador and other places ( www.debbie-kay.com ). I work at a dental office but it is also a dental software company called Open Dental Software ( www.open-dent.com ) I train offices on the new software when they buy it and if they want me to fly out to their office and do it in person I also do that. I am telephone support when people have questions on how to use the software. I am doing this for right now but my main goal is to be working with my husband Ruben with our business that we started in July 2006 called Crazy Fuego ( www.crazyfuego.com ) We do web and graphic design along with multimedia ( like radio commercials, tv commercials, and motion design ) for english or spanish businesses. We both love to create and design things for businesses. I have been practicing my graphic designing skills on my belly dancing troupe. I have made a couple posters and some business cards that have turned out very nice I thought. I am excited to be able to work with my husband with something that we both love to do.



The business is going well and it keeps growing so we are very excited about that. Ruben LOVES to surf he goes to the oregon coast at least once a week to surf. He also loves to draw and paint. He loves the business that we created so that he can be creative all of the time. He is from Ecuador South America so he speaks spanish. Some of his family lives in Portland, OR like his mom and step father, his two sisters, and his step brother. He also has family in Ecuador like his grandmother, one of his sisters, and a couple aunts. He has a lot of family around the world also and he has traveled a lot when he was younger like Saudi Arabia, Italy, Amsterdam, Baharain, and Aruba. He loves to travel and wants to travel more. I also would love to travel so we are planning on doing that later. I think that this is a good start for letting you know who the Barberan Family is. I am hoping to do this frequently and add pictures so that we can let everyone know what is going on in our lives.
